Install the Tumblr Unfollower with Ease and Step by Step directions.
When I first heard of the Unfollower plugin for tumblr It was through my dashboard. One of the people I followed reblogged another user’s promo post in order to get this “Secret” somewhat “Exclusive” plugin.
This Mystery Plugin showed you the names of people who unfollow you; A useful tool for those who promise a Follow for Follow or participate in the “Follow Back” trains.
Knowing the nature of tumblr I knew the Exclusivity was just a scheme for this guy to gain a few more followers in exchange for a link to the plugin. So I went out and discovered how simple the solution was.
The first step to Installing XKit on Firefox is to install the Greasemonkey Plugin. Visit addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/greasemonkey/ and hit the “Add to Firefox” button. You will also be prompted to allow addons.mozilla.com to install Greasemonkey, Hit “Allow” followed by “Install Now” and lastly “Restart Now”.

The second step to installing XKit on Firefox is to navigate to userscripts.org/scripts/show/109272. Click on the green “Install” button on the top right followed by “Install” once more on the popup window to install the XKit Script.

After the script is installed you should see a similar message as the one below:
You Are Now Ready to Roll! Visit Tumblr and you should be greeted with a Configuration set-up for the plugin.
Once you are done with the installation hit the How to Use the Follower (Unfollower) Checker section to learn how to use it.
To Install XKit on Google Chrome 1st navigate to studioxenix.com/xkit/install/get.php?flavor=chrome. At the bottom left of the browser You will be prompted with the message Extensions, apps, and themes can harm your computer, Are you sure you want to continue?, Click on “Continue”. The file will then download and a popup will appear titled “Add XKit?”, hit “Add”.

You should now see a confirmation bar alerting you that you have successfully installed the XKit add-on to Google Chrome.
You Are Now Ready to Roll! Visit Tumblr and you should be greeted with a Configuration set-up for the plugin.
Once you are done with the configuration hit the How to Use the Follower (Unfollower) Checker section to learn how to use it.
To Install XKit on Safari navigate to studioxenix.com/xkit/install/get.php?flavor=safari. A File Titled “XKit_Safari.safariextz” will download, as soon as it is finished double click it to open. You will be prompted with an alert asking “Are you sure you want to Install the Extension “XKit”?” Hit Install.
Safari does not give any indication that you’ve successfully installed the plugin until you visit tumblr and run through the configuration/installation process.
Once you are done with the configuration hit the How to Use the Follower (Unfollower) Checker section to learn how to use it.
Now that you have Installed the XKit Plugin to your browser, you will be wanting to use your Follower (Unfollower) Checker. The way this feature works is simple, you check your followers to see who follows you back, and then a few minutes, hours, days later you check again and the plugin compares your previous information with your updated results giving you the names/urls of those who have unfollowed you.
Anyways lets begin: Navigate to Tumblr.com and click on your blog name from the navigation up top.
You should Now Notice a bar below “Blog Settings” titled “Follower Checker”. Hit the button to open the XKit feature dialogue.

As the buttons clearly explain the two options are as so:
Mutual Check Mode: Check who doesn’t follow you back.
Delta Mode: Check who followed/unfollowed you since the last check.
Select whichever option you would like and track those suckers down.
As we conclude this how-to/tutorial I want to remind you that the beauty of tumblr is that the main focus is not your followers count… It’s the quality of your blog and your true personality. So don’t get caught up in the whirl of gaining followers and promo’s… Instead, spend that time focusing on customizing your tumblr blog and making it as personal and as reflective of you as possible.
Anyways, Happy Tumblrin!
